PTFE Parts
Beldam Crossley manufactures precision machined PTFE parts for OEMs and Primes that need low friction, chemical resistance and dependable performance in harsh service. Engineers can request Crossflon® grades (XS, XU, XC, FG and HT) to match load, temperature, media exposure and compliance needs. We support new design, like‑for‑like replication and performance-led improvement, backed by accredited UK manufacturing.
What We Manufacture
We machine PTFE parts including bearing pads and slide plates, bushes and sleeves, wear rings, thrust washers, valve seats and sealing elements, guide components, electrical insulation parts, liners and sleeves for fluid systems, and custom parts to drawing. Prototype to production volumes are supported, including framework supply.
Manufacturing Capability
Multi-axis CNC turning and milling, large diameter capability, controlled finishing, and in-house inspection (including CMM where required) enable repeatable tolerances and documented conformity. We routinely support tight tolerance fits, mating surfaces and assemblies where consistent friction and wear behaviour matters.
Industries Served
PTFE parts are supplied into subsea and offshore systems, marine equipment, aerospace and defence assemblies, chemical processing plant, energy transition projects and regulated process environments.
Sector-Specific Variants & Examples
Subsea & Offshore
Bearing pads, slide elements and wear components in mechanisms exposed to seawater, pressure cycling and intermittent lubrication. Typical problems solved: corrosion of metal interfaces, seizure under boundary lubrication, rapid wear from grit/silt contamination, and inconsistent movement.
Marine & Shipping
Valve seats, guides, liners and sealing interfaces for deck equipment and fluid handling. Typical problems solved: saltwater corrosion, swelling or degradation of alternative materials, stick-slip movement and maintenance-heavy downtime.
Aerospace & Defence
Insulation parts, wear elements and precision guides for safety‑critical assemblies. Typical problems solved: tolerance drift, friction variability, electrical isolation risk, and reliability requirements across controlled supply chains.
Chemical Processing
Seats, sleeves, liners and bearing elements for aggressive media. Typical problems solved: chemical attack, stress cracking of unsuitable materials, leakage due to poor seating, and shortened service life.
Food & Pharma (regulated)
Hygienic wear elements and barrier components (Crossflon® FG where applicable). Typical problems solved: contamination risk, cleaning chemical exposure, and the need for stable performance through washdown cycles.
Typical Problems Solved
Common problems PTFE parts solve include premature wear, high friction and heat build-up, seizure in sliding interfaces, corrosion-driven failures when replacing metal, chemical degradation of alternative polymers or elastomers, tolerance instability under temperature variation, and the need for electrical insulation within compact assemblies.
Approvals & Standards
Manufactured under AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Traceability, inspection records and certification packs can be supplied to match OEM and Prime requirements.

Technical FAQ's
We routinely machine to tight tolerances depending on geometry and material behaviour. Tolerance capability is reviewed at enquiry stage to ensure fit and function requirements are met.
Yes. We frequently replicate obsolete or underperforming components from samples or drawings and propose improvements for service life and reliability.
Material traceability, inspection reports, dimensional records and compliance documentation aligned to OEM or Prime requirements.
Yes. Our engineering team reviews load, temperature, friction, chemical exposure and lifecycle expectations to ensure the polymer specification is correct before manufacture.
Prototype, low volume and scheduled production runs are all supported with repeatability and documented quality control.
Submit your PTFE Parts drawings, performance requirements or material queries via our contact form. Our engineering team will review load, temperature, environment and tolerance demands before issuing a fast, competitive quotation.
To ensure optimal material selection and performance validation, include the following in your enquiry:
• Operating load (static and dynamic)
• Contact pressure and PV considerations
• Operating temperature range (continuous and peak)
• Surface finish of mating component
• Shaft or counterface material
• Chemical media exposure
• Speed of rotation or sliding distance
• Tolerance and fit requirements
• Expected design life and maintenance cycle
Providing this information enables precise material optimisation and reduces redesign risk.
1. Engineering review confirms material suitability
2. Tolerance and manufacturability assessment is completed
3. Risk areas are highlighted proactively
4. Lead time and cost are clearly defined
5. Improvement opportunities are identified where relevant
This ensures you receive a technically validated and commercially robust quotation.
